I will tell you about the history of Korea. Part 1


 



The history of Korea is made up of various events and characters that have been formed for many years. The following is a brief outline of the history of Korea in Korea.

Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392):
Goryeo was a dynasty built in 918 and dominated the Korean Peninsula for nearly millennia. In the Goryeo Dynasty, especially culture and art developed, and Buddhism's prosperity and cultural exchange occurred. However, the military atmosphere was also emphasized to prepare for the invasion of Mongolia.

Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897):
Joseon is a dynasty built by the Joseon Dynasty, and is a dynasty that ruled the Korean peninsula for 518 years. The Joseon Dynasty was famous for its Nobi Islands and so strict social class systems. Confucian ideology has a great influence on the politics and social structure of the state, and flowering and science and technology development have been relatively late.

Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945):
After being integrated into Japan's colony in 1910, Korea was dominated by Japanese imperialism. During this period, Koreans' resistance and Japan's oppression crossed. The Japanese imperialists suppressed Korea's history, language, and culture and implemented Japaneseization policies. Due to this oppression, Koreans developed an independence movement, especially representative of Ahn Chang -ho, Yoo Kwan -soon and Lee Bong -chang.

The establishment of the Republic of Korea and the Korean War (1945-1953):
In 1945, Japan withdrew from Korea due to the defeat of World War II, and Korea declared independence and established Korea. However, North Korea invaded South Korea in 1950 with the support of the Soviet Union, and the Korean War broke out. The war continued for three years, and in 1953, it was terminated in the Armistice Agreement.

Korea's development and modernization (1953 -present):
After the Korean War, Korea has grown economically, and since the 1960s, economic development has been achieved by focusing on industrialization, upgrading labor and technology development. In particular, Korea has produced world -renowned companies in the fields of information and communication technology, automobiles and semiconductors. Also, in 1988, the Summer Olympics were held in Seoul. Korea also suffered the Asian financial crisis in 1997, but has since then recovered rapidly with the change in economic structure and the government's reform policy.


I will briefly introduce the presidents of Korea. Here are the presidents of Korea.

Syngman Rhee (1948-1960):
He was also the first president of the Republic of Korea and as the head of the provisional government of the Republic of Korea. In 1948, the Republic of Korea was officially established as president. However, in April 1960, students' demand for democratization and anti -government protests resigned the president and then fled to the United States with the support of the US military.

Yoon Bo -sun (1960-1962):
He was appointed president after President Syngman Rhee's resignation. However, in 1961, he was dismissed as president with the May 16 military affairs led by Captain Park Chung -hee.

Park Chung -hee (1963 -1979):
Park Chung -hee, who established the military regime after military affairs in 1961, was elected president in 1963. He focused on economic development and achieved Korea's economic growth and led the economic development of Korea, known as "the miracle of the Han River." However, after the military affairs, the presidency was maintained and the Constitution was revised to eliminate the limit of term. In October 1979, he tried to resign the president because of the civil movement that criticized the involvement of pro -elections, but was assassinated by the military in the face of the protests.

Choi Kyu -ha (1979 -1980):
Choi Kyu -ha, who was appointed after Park Chung -hee's assassination, led the state as a presidential president of President Park Chung -hee. However, he served as president for a short time, and in May 1980 he resigned the president.

Chun Doo -hwan (1980-1988):
After the May 1980 Gwangju Uprising, he was elected president by the military. President Chun Doo -hwan promoted a policy for economic development, and contributed to strengthening Korea's international status with the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. However, the demand for democratization and student demonstrations resigned the president and led to the transition to a democratic system.

Roh Tae -woo (1988 -1993):
He was elected as the first president after democratization. President Roh Tae -woo promoted the establishment of a democratic system and economic development, and was noted at international events such as the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 4th Korea -Japan Summit in 1989. However, his reign was criticized as the Roh Tae -woo dictatorship, and since 1992, he has lost support and resigned presidential positions due to the economic crisis and domestic political problems.

Kim Young -sam (1993 -1998):
Kim Young -sam was elected president in the presidential election after President Roh Tae -woo's resignation. President Kim Young -sam promoted economic reform and democracy, and promoted policies to improve peace and inter -Korean relations on the Korean peninsula. However, his rule lost his support and resigned the presidential position due to independence.

Kim Dae -jung (1998 -2003):
President Kim Dae -jung is known as the leader of the democratization movement and leading the unification policy. We promoted the inter -Korean summit, unification policy, advancement and economic structural reform, and in 2000, we held a historic inter -Korean summit for peace on the Korean peninsula.

Roh Moo -hyun (2003 -2008):
President Roh Moo -hyun took office to emphasize human rights and social justice, and focused on improving inter -Korean relations, 2007 inter -Korean summit and North Korea's nuclear issue. However, his reign lost support and resigned presidential positions due to economic problems and political conflicts.

Lee Myung -bak (2008 -2013):
President Lee Myung -bak pursued a policy that focuses on internationalization and economic development under the slogan "Global Korea." However, his rule was controversial due to real estate bubbles, suspicions of corruption, and economic imbalances, resigning and trial.

Park Geun -hye (2013 -2017):
President Park Geun -hye promoted a policy that focuses on solving the discrimination of Korean society and the problem of corruption and economic development. However, his reign led to presidential impeachment due to allegations of corruption and violation of the Constitution.

Moon Jae -in (2017-):
President Moon Jae -in is in power to emphasize democracy, social justice, and peace. His rule focuses on social equality, economic development, inter -Korean relations, and peace on the Korean peninsula.
